FYI for Producers. A software update provides bug fixes for features that aren't working quite right and minor software enhancements, and sometimes include new drivers to support printers or DVD drives. ( Maschine updates up to 1.8 so far ) A software update is installed over software you're already using and it isn't a full software package installation. Updates are free not Upgrades.
A software upgrade is a purchase of a newer version of software you currently use. Example the New 2.0 There's usually a cost for a software upgrade, although you can often upgrade at a reduced price or get a freebie if you just recently bought and registered your software. I used to think the same way and thought the upgrade 2.0 was free lol I had to do some research to know the difference. So that should end any confusion on that. You never know NI may release a 1.9 UPDATE that may be the 2.0 software BUT without all the plugin goodies etc. hmmm how cool would that be.....ahhhh my wishful thinking I get blinded by it lol. Any whooooo the $ 99.00 is worth it with all that you get the 23 effects built in , solid bus , massive , reactor , scarbe mark 1, 5 new synth engines which will give your workflow a whole new sound when designing sounds. As a sound designer myself that DSP Technology along with a whole new GUI ( all the things people wanted like the mixer , time clock etc ) is a no brainer lol but that's just me. Now enough of this talk lol I want to see it turn to page 3 ! ! !
